U16 girls to fly for Myanmar Friday

Dhaka: The second qualifying round of the AFC U16 Women’s Championship 2019 Thailand will be held in Myanmar from February 17 to March 3. Bangladesh U16 women’s team will compete in the second round of the qualifiers as it eased through the first round of qualifiers. The team will leave for Myanmar on February 24. Before they leave for Myanmar, the BFF arranged a press conference which was held in the conference room of the BFF House at 3:30pm on Wednesday, February 23. BFF Women’s Football Committee chairperson, BFF executive member, SWAFF executive committee member, AFC executive member and AFC representative to the FIFA Council Mahfuza Akter Kiron, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag, Dhaka Bank senior officer Md. Shams Hakim, national technical and strategic director Paul Thomas Smalley, head coach Golam Rabbani Choton, captain Maria Manda and vice-captain Akhi Khatun spoke at the press conference. A flight (TG-340) of Thai Airways carrying Bangladesh U16 women’s national team will leave Dhaka for Bangkok at 2:00am on February 22, Friday.
