U16 girls come back to draw against S Korean side

Paju, July 17: The Bangladesh national U16 women’s team have completed a well-fought draw against South Korean Hwacheon Information Industry High School Women’s Football Club.

The Bengal girls dug deep to come back from 2 goals down to draw 2-2 in an evenly contested match in KFA NTC, Paju on Monday.

The South Korean side took the lead on the 27th minute through Thapu.

The two sides went into the break with the score-line at 1-0 in favour of the hosts.

After the restart, the South Korean side again started brighter as they doubled their lead when Chim Ching Wu netted in the 63rd minute.

However, the Red and Greens felt the need to claw their way back being 2-0 down.

They started committing more players forward which eventually paid dividend on the 73rd minute when midfielder Sanjida Akhter reduced the deficit.

Only five minutes later, defender Shamsunnahar went up the field to net the equalizer for the visitors.

After that, the Bengal girls kept on attacking and created some more chances to score the winner but the forwards just could not take the chance.

In the end, Bangladesh had to settle for a 2-2 draw in the third match of their South Korea tour.
