Farashganj upset Abahani 1-0

Dhaka, August 2: Farashganj Sporting Club staged the first upset of the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League 2017 beating defending champions Dhaka Abahani 1-0 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.

After a barren first half, Towhiduzzaman Liton scored the all important goal in the 76th minute of the match.

Played in a muddy pitch, the match lacked the normal pace with the players facing difficulty while passing and running with the ball.

However, Abahani dominated the game but wasted a couple of chances.

Then in the 76th minute, Liton scored from a goal mouth melee and Abahani failed to restore parity in the remaining minutes.

Both Abahani and Farashganj now have three points after playing two matches each.
