Ctg Abahani secures semis beating Sheikh Russel

Dhaka, May 25: Chittagong Abahani has rolled into the semifinals of Walton Federation Cup 2017 by beating Sheikh Russell Krira Chakra 4-2 in the shootout at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.

The second quarterfinal of the curtain raiser tourney of the season ended 1-1 in the 90 minutes and the scoreline did not change in the extra minutes as well.

Sheikh Russell took the lead in the 10th minute of the match with Gambian forward Dawda Cisse heading in a free kick taken by Atikur Rahman Mishu.

However Chittagong Abahani restored the parity three minutes later with winger Jahid Hossain hitting the back of the net with a solo effort.
