Uttar Baridhara held by Wari, T&T get expected victory against Dhaka City

Dhaka: Bangladesh Championship League saw only three goals in two matches on Tuesday as lower mid table Wari Club held second place holders Uttar Baridhara Club with a 1-1 draw and Matijheel T&T Club defeated Dhaka City FC 1-0. Though Uttar Baridhara is far behind toppers Bangladesh Police, they had a chance to get closer to the toppers by winning today’s battle. But Wari boys did not give them the chance. Rather they played better football today and even took the lead first at the 40th minute of the match. Wari forward Titu got the ball just in front of the post from one of his fellow wingers’ cross and took a successful shot to take the lead. On the other hand, Uttar Baridhara Club had to wait until the 59th minute of the game to level the score. UBC’s Sumon successfully used the chance of scoring his only goal after the flying ball came to his feet in a crowd in front of Wari’s post. The match got its result at that moment since neither team could score any goal till the end. In the other match of the day, mid-table team Matijheel T&T Club got their expected victory against lower-mid table Dhaka City FC. However, it was not an easy win for T&T since they had to wait for the so much wanted goal until the 75th minute of the game. T&T forward Atikul got the ball from the midfield while standing just before the DCFC’s goal post. Upon receiving the ball quickly with his chest, the forward dropped it on his feet and took a good shot to make the score line 1-0. After that, the match saw no more goals till the end.
