U19 in search of first win at AFC qualifiers

Dushanbe: Bangladesh U19 Women’s Team look forward to their final game versus the hosts Tajikistan in Dushanbe tomorrow. Having performed admirably in their first two games the team will be looking for their first win in this kind of age group U19 AFC competition having been beaten in their games in 2012 in Malaysia. Mousumi sternly made the point that the target will be to win the game. She also believed that the last two games have been invaluable to the players and team’s learning and development. These kind of experiences and playing against good teams like Korea will only help us get better. We hope to develop a high intensity to the game with our forward movement and positive passing. We will also work hard to press the ball high up the field. Mr Choton also felt pleased with the last game performance against Chinese Taipei who’s Head Coach was very complimentary. If we continue with our professional approach and make sure we eliminate some of our silly mistakes we will achieve our goal. The competition has been extremely valuable to the players continued improvement and experience. The squad welcomes back Kristan from suspension and who will be available for selection. Masura is still nursing a sprained ankle and with the up and coming Olympic qualifies her welfare will be the highest priority. All players have recovered very well with a well structured recovery routine this morning. The team plays at a later time tomorrow with the kick off at 6pm Bangladesh time.
