U15 girls gearing up to retain SAFF supremacy

Thimpu: The players of Bangladesh U15 Women’s national team have begun full-fledged training sessions in a bid to defend their SAFF U15 Women’s Championship crown. On Tuesday, the girls trained at Changlimithan Stadium Thimpu, Bhutan under the supervision of head coach Golam Rabbani Choton and National Technical and Strategic Director Paul Thomas Smalley. The training session lasted for more than one and a half hours which included warm-ups to match practice ahead of the first match against Pakistan. In the afternoon, the players had a gym and recovery session of over an hour at the team hotel. Choton and Paul are working closely with every individual to keep the players’ spirit high with a view to bringing out their best possible performance. All the players are fit and in good physical condition. The weather in Thimpu is relatively nice but the temperature goes down to 12 degrees Celsius when there is rain. Notably, Bangladesh’s first opponents Pakistan arrived in Thimpu on Tuesday and are staying in the same hotel. On Wednesday, August 8, there is an MCM Match Co-ordination Meeting at 12:00pm and the pre match press conference of all six teams of the tournament at 1:00pm at DRUK Hotel, Thimpu.
