Russel edge past Muktis

Dhaka, November 15: Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra edged past Muktijoddha Sangshad Krira Chakra 1-0 in the Bangladesh Premier League 2017 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.

After a lackluster first half, both the teams appeared more serious in the second and it was Russel who scored the solitary goal to grab all three points.

Russel midfielder Monaem Khan Raju made his way through the Muktijoddha defence in the 69th minute and curved a low cross that was headed home by overlapping defender Uttam Kumar Banik.

Russel have 19 points from 12 matches while Muktijoddha remain at 7, playing the same number of matches.
