Palestine into final, Bangladesh bow out

Cox’s Bazar: Team Bangladesh is out of the Bangabandhu Gold Cup 2018 after suffering a 2-0 defeat at the hands of a strong Palestine side on Wednesday. The men in red and green gave it their all but Palestine was just too tough a hurdle to overcome. Bangladesh started brightly but were pegged back by an early Palestine strike. M M Balah drew first blood for his nation in the eight minute. Conceding the goal, Bangladesh pushed on the offence more but Palestine could afford to play safe with the lead and were keep more men at the back to thwart Bangladesh’s attacks. Bangladesh carried on trying till the final minutes but despite their efforts, were unlucky to concede a second goal in the third minute of added time as they committed too many men forward. Sameh F M Maraaba broke the hosts’ hearts. Bangladeshi players were devastated to see all their efforts going in vain whereas Palestine celebrated going through to the final of the prestigious tournament.
