Independence Cup 2018 from Jan 16

Dhaka, January 11: Matches of ‘Independence Cup 2018’ has been scheduled to be started from January 16 with 12 teams who have been participated in BPL recently.

The draw ceremony ahead of the tournament has already been held on Thursday around 12:30 pm at the conference room of BFF house.

A MoU was also signed between BFF and sponsor Walton Group in this regard.

Abdus Salam Murshedy, the senior vice president of BFF graced the draw ceremony as the chief guest. BFF executive committee members Amirul Islam Babu, Fazlur Rahman Babul, the additional director of Walton, the sponsors F.M. Iqbal bin Anwar Dawn were also present on the occasion.

Representatives of respective clubs were also present there.

The budget of the tournament was estimated as Taka 60 lacs while each club will receive Taka 2 lacs for the participation in the tournament.

Champion team will receive Taka 5 lacs while the runners-up team will bag Taka 3 lacs. Prizes will be given to the highest goal scorer and best player of the tournament.

Group A- Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd, Rahmatganj MFS, Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd.

Group B- Brothers Union, Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra, Farashganj SC

Group C- Abahani Ltd, Sheikh Russell KC, Team BJMC

Group D- Chittagong Abahani, Arambagh KS, Saif Sporting Club
