Bangamata U-19 Women’s International Gold Cup

Bangladesh emerged unbeaten champions of Group B beating Kyrgyzstan by 2-1 goals in their title-deciding match of the ongoing first edition Bangamata U-19 Women’s International Gold Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium here on April 26.

Sanjida Akhter and Krishna Rani Sarker netted the one goal each for the hosts while Akhmatkulova Zarina scored one for the touring side.

Both teams Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan earlier confirmed the semifinal spots beating UAE in their respective group matches. Bangladesh defeated UAE by 2-0 goals on April 22 while Kyrgyzstan defeated UAE by 2-1 goals on April 24. 

Group B Champions Bangladesh will take on the Group A runners in the second semifinal on April 30 at the same venue while the Group B runners up Kyrgyzstan will face the Group A champions in the first semifinal on April 29.

In the day’s match, Bangladeshi girls got the first success while their Right winger Sanjida Akhter opened account in the first minute of the game (1-0). Sanjida made no mistake to book the record of tournament’s fastest goal while Kyrgyzstan Goalie Tolonova Aichurek failed to grab the ball from Krishna Rani Sarker.
