Bangamata Gold Cup: U19 girls to go match by match

Dhaka: Bangladesh U19 women’s national team will take to the pitch in the upcoming Bangamata U19 Women’s International Gold Cup 2019 to tackle each match as it comes. Bangladesh head coach Golam Rabbani Choton, skipper Misrat Jahan Moushumi and her deputy Maria Manda came up with the target while speaking at a press conference arranged at the BFF House on Saturday. They also said that the primary goal would be to reach the semi-final; and then the team would look to make it into the final. The full squad of Bangladesh was also announced at the press conference. The press conference was held at the conference room of the BFF House (2nd floor) in Motijheel, Dhaka at 3:00pm on Saturday, April 20. FIFA Council member, AFC and BFF Ex-Co member and BFF women’s football committee chairman Mahfuza Akhter Kiron, BFF member and media committee chairman Md Amirul Islam Babu, BFF technical and strategic director Paul Thomas Smalley and BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag were also present at the press conference. The first ever Bangamata U19 Women’s International Gold Cup 2019, organized by the BFF, will be held from April 22 to May 3 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka. Six U19 women’s teams, including Bangladesh will compete in the tournament. Mongolia, Tajikistan and Laos were drawn into Group A whereas Bangladesh will compete against United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kyrgyzstan in Group B. The tournament will kick-off with a Group B clash of Bangladesh and UAE at 6:00pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka on Monday, April 22.
