Dhaka: The AFC U-16 Women’s Football Championship qualifiers will be held from September 15 to September 23 jointly organized by the Asian Football Confederation and Bangladesh Football Federation.
Five teams will participate in the AFC U16 Women’s Championship 2019 qualifiers including Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Lebanon and hosts Bangladesh.
All the games of the tournament will be held at the Bir Sreshtha Shahid Sipahi Md. Mostafa Kamal stadium.
Ahead of the tournament, a press conference was held at the BFF Hosue in Motijheel at 11am on Friday.
All members of the print and electronic media have been requested to attend the press conference.
The press conference was attended by Vietnam head coach Nguiyen Thi Mai Lan and skipper Vu Thi Hoa, UAE head coach Houriya Al Taheri, Lebanon head coach Hagop Demirdjias and captain Rida Wahhab, Bahrain head coach Khaled Hassan and Bangladesh head coach Golam Rabbani Choton and skipper Maria Manda.
All the teams pledged to put on a good show in the tournament but opined that Bangladesh and Vietnam are favourites to win the competition.
