Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) defending champions Abahani Ltd Dhaka have been drawn to play a two-match tier against North Korea’s April 25 Sports Club in the inter-zone play-off semifinals of AFC Cup 2019. The draw was held at the headquarters of Asian Football Confederation in Malaysia on Tuesday. The home match for the Bangladesh champions will be held at Bangabandhu National Stadium on August 21 while the away match is scheduled for August 28. On their way to the semifinals, the North Korean club won five while Abahani won four out of total six matches in the group stage. April 25 Sports Club played the inter-zone final against Altyn Asyr, a Turkmenistan club, in the tournament’s last edition while the Sky Blues just entered into the knock out stage of the tournament for the first time and as the first Bangladeshi club. This means, the Bangladesh champions have a tough battle ahead. Abahani’s Portuguese coach Mario Lemos also admitted the reality. While talking to media, he said his team have chance to go through to the final. However, he is not much excited as he wants to count every match.
