Senior Vice-President of Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) Abdus Salam Murshedy MP said, “The football has been facing many challenges since the pandemic outbreak worldwide. Like as other issues, the integrity of football is also at high risk. The axis-powers in different countries will try to corrupt or to manipulate matches, competitions, players, officials and member associations and will give rise to abuse of association football.

In this context, Asia Football Confederation (AFC) believes that all the Member Associations (MA) will take responsibilities to protect the integrity of football preventing all methods or practices of doping and match manipulation while the action will resume after the end of pandemic. AFC has requested its MAs to adopt ‘zero-tolerance’ policy to prevent these methods or practices during the domestic competitions; as well as has determined the code of moral obligations for players and officials.

Those codes of moral obligations: Player/s or official/s shall not try to influence the result of games. Player/s or official/s neither shall take part in betting nor encourage or motivate others to do so. Player/s or official/s shall not disclose any information that can affect the integrity of football. Player/s or official/s shall not keep connection with an AFC rule violator or a convict for breaching of AFC discipline. Player/s or official/s shall have to disclose to the respective federations with full details of any approaches or invitations and information he/they received to engage in corrupt conduct, as well as shall assist in the further investigation.

Like as AFC, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) is also determined to adopt ‘zero-tolerance’ policy against these corrupt conducts in its upcoming domestic competitions. BFF is requested to provide all possible cooperation or assistance in this regard.
