Police FC go 6 pts clear at the top dismantling Dhaka City FC 6-1

Dhaka: Bangladesh Police FC handed Dhaka City FC a footballing lesson on Monday afternoon when they beat the latter 6-1 in Round 18 of the ongoing Bangladesh Championship League 2018-19. At BSSSM Mostafa Kamal Stadiu in Kamalapur, Dhaka, the prospects looked really bleak for Dhaka City FC when Shaoun scored past his own goalkeeper in the 3rd minute of the match. The lead gave Police FC a momentum that continued, literally, till the final whistle, Rasel doubled the lead in the 12th minute. Three minutes later, Shamin made it 3-0. Then it was Rasel again who scored the fourth in the 30th minute. Amirul scoring in the second minute of added time before the halftime whistle meant that the teams went into the break with Police FC leading 5-0. After the break, Dhaka City looked more solid at the back and also created some chances. The change paid dividends when Ameka pulled one back for the BCL newcomers in the 62nd minute. However, Amirul put the final nail on Dhaka City’s coffin by scoring the sixth in the 90th minute. With the win, Police FC go six points clear at the top with 29 points from 16 games whereas Dhaka City FC slump to fourth with 23 points from the same number of matches.
