Mohammedan close to relegation zone after 2-1 defeat to Rahmatganj

Dhaka: The plight of Mohammedan SC Limited seems unending as the Dhaka giants suffered yet another defeat in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League 2018-19, this time at the hands of Rahmatganj MFS. It was the Black and Whites’ eighth defeat of the season in 12 matches. They have managed to win only one game this season while the other three ended in draws. On Friday, Mohammedan’s prospects did not look too well at the Bangabandhu National Stadium as Faisal Mahmud netted for Rahmatganj just four minutes into the match. Even though Habibur Rahman Shohag equalized for the ‘sleeping giants’ in the 11th minute, they never looked like beating Rahmatganj. Instead, it was Rahmatganj who found the winner in the 74th minute through Siyo Junapio. With the eight defeat of the season, Mohammedan now hover above the relegation zone in the 11th position with just six points from 12 matches. On the other hand, it was Rahmatganj’s second victory of the season which placed them in the 9th spot with 12 points from as many games.
