First B level coaching course begins

Dhaka, October 13: The Bangladesh Football Federation begins its first ever B level certificate coaching course accredited by the Asian Football Confederation on Saturday (Oct 14).

The BFF AFC B level coaching certificate will be conducted over 43 hours of practical sessions and 60 hours of theoretical sessions. The course will have a duration of 120 hours including the post course assignments and presentations that each participant will have to complete.

Designed to educate coaches in advanced techniques and skills, and help them develop a better understanding of individuals or groups of players, this course is divided into two parts.

The course will also cover tactics and the mental requirement.

Participants will be required to demonstrate their level of retention by successfully completed objective based tasks after the first half of the course.

Only the successful participants will be allowed to proceed to the second part of the course.

The course will end with three sessions of practical exams and two theoretical exams.

The examination will focus on the practical coaching abilities, and knowledge and understanding of the theoretical contents of the game.

In addition, coaches are required to submit and present a range of tasks in front of the class after completion of the course instruction.

Similar to the previous courses, this course also has a maximum capacity of 24 participants who have already completed the C level coaching course and have at least two years of proven coaching experience. The B level course will be starting at full capacity with all the seats taken.

Besides being physically and medically fit, the applicants must have a valid coaching licence of the previous level. Completion of the B level coaching certificate course will enable coaches to work with seniors, grassroots and youth levels. Paul Smalley, the technical director of Bangladesh Football Federation, will act as the instructor.

The course fee is set at Tk 10,000, divided into two parts depending on how far the coaches go. The second part of this course will begin on March 24, 2018.
