Families of 2 ex-footballers, hockey player get flats from PM

Dhaka, September 20: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given three residential flats to three former players of national football and hockey teams. Late footballer Monem Munna, former Abahani Limited footballer Sheikh Ashraf Ali and late national hockey team player Zahidur Rahman Pushkin have been allotted one flat each in Dhaka’s Mirpur area. The premier has handed over the keys of the flats to the players and their families at the Ganabhaban on Thursday morning. On behalf of footballer Monem Munna and Hockey player Zahidur Rahman, their respective wives – Yasmin Monem and Fahmida Rahman, received the keys of the flats while Sheikh Ashraf Ali himself received the key. The flats were given to the players for their outstanding contribution to country’s sports sector. Among others, Bangladesh Football Federation President Kazi Salahuddin, former footballer and MP Abdus Salam Murshedi, BFF vice-president Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Awami League youth and sports secretary Harunur Rashid and BFF General Secretary Abu Naeem Sohag were present there.
