Fakirerpool win 5-goal thriller against Wari; Dhaka City, Victoria play out goalless draw

Fakirerpool Young Men’s Club beat Wari Club 3-2 in the Bangladesh Championship League 2018-19 on Wednesday to end their season on a high. Masum broke the deadlock for Fakirerpool only two minutes into the game. Jewel doubled FYMC’s lead in the 22nd minute. Zilon further extended the lead in the 51st minute. Wari, however, had some fire power left up their sleeve. Anik brought one back for Wari in the 64th minute. Tuhin then scored in the 84th minute to stage a nail-biting finish to the end. Nevertheless, Fakirerpool finished the match as winners as no more goals were scored. Fakirerpool are now 7th with 25 points from their 20 matches whereas Wari just avoided relegation as they are 9th on the table with 23 points from their lot of matches. In the second match of the day, newcomers Dhaka City FC drew 1-all with Victoria Sporting Club. It was Ameka who gave Victoria the lead in the 50th minute. However, Dhaka City equalized with Hanif finding the back of the net in the 73rd minute. With the draw, Victoria finish sixth with 26 points from 20 matches whereas Dhaka City are eighth with a point less from the same number of matches.
