Brazilian envoy promises to help improve Bangladesh football

Dhaka: The Brazilian ambassador to Bangladesh, Joao Tabajara Oliveira Junior met with officials and members of BFF on Saturday, June 23, and discussed the World Cup craze in Bangladesh.

Reporters from Brazil, Mikael Fox and Clayton Conseryani, along with Brazil embassy’s cultural section official Igar Tavares accompanied the ambassador during the visit.

They said the FIFA World Cup fan base in Bangladesh and the supporters of Brazil Football Team have impressed them. In this regard, the Brazil Embassy has decided to make a documentary on the fans of Brazil’s football in Bangladesh.

The Brazilian envoy said his country will always be beside Bangladesh Football Federation for the development of football.

BFF general secretary Md Abu Naeem Shohag, coach’s education coordinator BA Jobayer Nipu, BFF members Md Fazlur Rahman Babul, Sheikh Md Aslam, former national footballer Rakibul Islam and other officials were present during the meeting with the ambassador.

The Brazilian envoy was welcomed with floral bouquets and was handed over a crest by the BFF general secretary.

Members of the Sonlai Otit Club and other former footballers also met with ambassador Oliveria.
