BFF Football Academy to kick-off in February

Dhaka: The BFF Football Academy is likely to commence in February at the Fortis Sports Ground at Madani Avenue in Beraid area of Badda, Dhaka. BFF president Kazi Md Salahuddin, along with members of the BFF Development Committee, visited the Fortis Sports Ground and its adjacent area on Friday, January 18 to initiate the work of the proposed academy. The BFF President reached the Fortis Sports Ground facility around 11:30am accompanied by BFF vice-president and national teams committee chairman Kazi Nabil Ahmed MP, BFF vice-president and technical committee chairman Tabith Awal, SWAFF, AFC, FIFA member and BFF women’s football committee chairperson Mahfuza Akter Kiron, national technical and strategic director Paul Thomas Smalley, K-Sports CEO Fahad Karim, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag and other members of the BFF development committee. The BFF president and other BFF officials expressed their satisfaction after visiting the venue and Kazi Salahuddin ordered necessary steps to be taken to furnish and make the would-be residence of academy footballers ready for starting the camp in February. The BFF president also ordered the pitch to be made ready for the academy players as soon as possible. The academy will start its operations as soon as the residential building (adjacent to the ground) and the practice ground is ready in February. For the academy, a total of 60 players will be chosen by the technical committee. Upcoming programmes and schedules would be drawn up by the technical committee with the help of the national technical director.
