Bengal Girls hopeful to end tour on a high note

Chonburi, September 15: All the members and staff of the Bangladesh national U16 women’s football team are hopeful of playing their best football against Australia in their final match of the tour and end it on a high note.

The elimination of Bangladesh and Australia were confirmed in both the teams’ second group match as they lost their second consecutive matches.

However, reflecting upon their 3-0 loss to Japan, Bangladesh head coach, Choton said, “Our girls played a better match against Japan than against North Korea. Australia is also a strong Team but our girls are showing signs of improvement and displayed a very good performance against Japan.”

“Australia versus Bangladesh will be a very competitive match. Our girls are ready to give their best in the last match and try to achieve a good result for the country,” added Choton.

Asked about the team’s fitness, he said, “There is no injury problem in the team. Everybody is physically and mentally ready for the next match.”

Goalkeeper Mahmuda also reiterated the coach’s words in saying that the team’s performance against Japan was very promising.

“In the last match, against Japan, we showed a good performance. Coach give me a chance to play against Japan I tried to put in my best effort,” she said.

The U16 prodigy is also hopeful of notching up a good result against Australia. “In the next match, I will try to play a much better game for bringing a good result for my country. Our team is developing and showing better performance match by match.”
