Dhaka: Bangladesh and Laos, the finalists, have been announced as joint champions of Bangamata U19 Women’s International Gold Cup 2019 as the match was called off due unplayable conditions caused by cyclonic storm Fani.
The local organizing committee of Bangamata U19 Women’s International Gold Cup 2019 and the tournament committee jointly agreed to call off the game considering the situation.
The fans were there to support the teams and everything was in place for a fitting final match but it had to be cancelled as there was no way the football match could have been played.
The BFF would like to sincerely apologize to the fans for the unwanted situation.
Notably, the total prize money of the final, USD 40,000 (Champions – USD 25,000; Runners-up – USD 15,000), will be divided equally (USD 20,000) between the two teams and both sides will get their trophy.
