B. Kings register record-breaking victory against BJMC

Bashundhara Kings beat Team BJMC 2-0 at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari on Sunday afternoon to further bolster their position at the top of the BPL table. It was Bashundhara Kings’ 12th straight victory of the season – the longest winning streak in the history of BPL. Faisal gave Kings the lead in the 28th minute. Then in the second half, Marcos ensured all three points for the hosts by adding a second in the 81st minute. After breaking the record, the new big boys of BPL will now look to extend their winning run further. Their streak began on February 24 when the beat Arambagh KS 3-2. During this fabulous run, Oscar Bruzon’s men scored 32 goals and conceded only 10. The previous winning streak was held by reigning BPL champions Dhaka Abahani Limited. The Sky Blues registered 11 consecutive victories from 25 October 2009 to 10 March 2010 in the 2009-10 season of BPL. After a draw in the next match, the Dhaka giants again picked up 11 consecutive victories from 24 March to 25 May 2010. The record has finally been broken by Bashundhara Kings who continue to occupy the top spot on the BPL table with 52 points from 18 matches. They are yet to lose a match this season. Team BJMC, on the other hand, are rock bottom with only 8 points from 19 matches.
