Abahani win goal fest over Brothers

BPL defending champions Abahani Ltd Dhaka on Monday won their 19th league game over Brothers Union FC as both the teams scored a total of eight goals. The match was kicked off at Bangabandhu National Stadium at 7 pm on Monday. The BPL champions, who are now at the second position, got their first lead at the very first minute of the play as Bangladesh national team star forward Ziban netted his only goal. 12 minutes later, Abahani got their second goal from Jewel, who scored his second goal at the 21st minute to make the score line 3-0. The Brothers started to take revenge after the break. At the 77th minute, Brothers’ foreign recruit Moga netted the first goal for his team. Five minutes later, Brothers made the goal difference 3-2 with an amazing scoring from Rabby. But Abahani almost confirmed their win at the 85th minute when Sunday Chizoba got his first and his team’s fourth goal. Three minutes later, Brothers’ Ballu came forward to decrease the goal difference. At the second additional minute of the second half, Sunday netted another goal to rewrite the score line 5-3. After today’s match, Abahani are at the second place with 48 points from 19 matches while Brothers are still at the relegation zone with 13 points from 18 matches.
