Today, 5 August 2021, as part of the celebration of the 72nd birth anniversary of Captain Sheikh Kamal, one of the pioneers of the modern sports and culture movement in Bangladesh, organized by the National Sports Council and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Honorable President of BFF Kazi Md. Salah Uddin was awarded 'Sheikh Kamal Jatiya Krira Parishad Award 2021' in the Lifetime Achievement Award category.

On this occasion, Hon'ble Prime Minister of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina as the Chief Guest distributed the award virtually and unveiled the cover of the memoir of martyred Captain Sheikh Kamal and addressed to all.

Hon'ble State Minister for Youth and Sports Md. Zahid Ahsan Russell, MP presided over the function. For the first time, awards were given by the National Sports Council and the Ministry of Youth and Sports in various categories to honor Shaheed Sheikh Kamal for his outstanding contribution to the field of sports.
