Grassroots Football of Bangladesh Celebrated ‘International Disability Day 2020’
Today (03-12-2020) The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) celebrated ‘International Disability Day 2020’ by hosting a Festival of Football fun and games on the BFF Astroturf. Together with their partners ARDIRD organized a festival of Football activities and matches. With differing disability groups representing their respective teams Football again proved to be the winner.This festival started with a football tournament. A total of eight teams including (2) two physically challenged football teams, (4) four deaf and hard of hearing football teams and (2) two Pan disability football teams participated in the tournament. A total number of 80 (eighty) players with different disabilities attended this festival.
The event was attended by the Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Football Federation Mr. Abdus Salam Murshedy M. P., BFF Vice President Mr. Mohiuddin Ahmmed Mohi, BFF Executive Committee members Mr. Zakir Hossain Chowdhury, Mr. Tipu Sultan, Mr. Md. Iliyas Hossain, Mr. Mohidur Rahman Miraj and BFF General Secretary Mr. Md. Abu Nayeem Shohag along with BFF Technical Director Mr. Paul Thomas Smalley were present as the chief guests at the inaugural festival.
Also present were Mr. Badiuzzaman Al Amin, Executive Director of Association for Research Development and Rights Implementation for Disabilities (ARDRID), and Mr. Iftekhar Hossain Shohel, President of the Sports and Cultural Society of the Disabled (SCSD).
This day long program ended by giving medals to all participants along with trophies to both teams.
