Dhaka: Bashundhara Kings hav secured a place in the final of the ongoing Federation Cup 2018 beating Sheikh Russel KC at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
The BPL newcomers, even after being dubbed as the favourites, failed to break the Russel defence in regulation time.
On the contrary, the men in blue also created chances to potentially kick Bashundhara Kings out of the season inaugural tournament.
However, the game ended 0—0 after 90 minutes and went to extra time.
Extra time was more of the same from both teams until Kings forward Sobuj had his say.
Towhidul Islam Sobuj netted the ball in the 118 minute spreading delirium among the Kings faithful.
Sobuj did see a red for taking his shirt off during celebrations but the player could not care less as he secured the final spot for his team.
Bashundhara Kings will square off against Dhaka giants Abahani Ltd. in the final of Federation Cup 2018.
