UAE bow out of Bangamata Gold Cup losing 2-1 to Kyrgyzstan

Dhaka: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) suffered their second consecutive loss in the Bangamata U19 Women’s International Gold Cup 2019 at the hands of Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday. The loss saw them crash out of the first ever Bangamata U19 Women’s International Gold Cup 2019 from the group stage. On the other hand, the result means that both Kyrgyzstan and Bangladesh go through to the semis and third match of Group B would only decide the group champions and runners-up. In the second Group B match on Wednesday, both Kyrgyzstan and UAE went at each with all they have. However, the quality of Kyrgyzstan shone through as the took the lead only six minutes into the game thanks to Boronbekova Aizhan. Yrysbek Kyzy Kenzhebubu then doubled the lead for Kyrgyzstan in the 18th minute. Wounded and desperate to keep their semi-final dreams alive, UAE began to push ore players forward. The determination paid dividends as Shahd Khaled Alzarkan got one back for the Emiratis in the 39th minute. Kyrgyzstan walked away with the win as no more goals were scored in the match. However, the scenario could have been much different had UAE not missed a penalty late into the second half. Meanwhile, Kyrgyz goalkeeper Tolonova Aichurek was adjudged the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the match for her brilliant goalkeeping display. As of now, UAE are packing their bags for home whereas Bangladesh and Kyrgyzstan are preparing to face each other in the third and final match of the group on Friday.
