Police get 1-0 win over Wari; Soccer Club, Swadhinata play out goalless draw

Dhaka: Bangladesh Championship League table toppers Bangladesh Police Football Club got a slightest margin win against lower mid-table contenders Wari Club while Soccer Club Feni and Swadhinata Krira Shangha played a goalless draw match on Saturday. Today, Wari boys gave the toppers a real hard battle and kept them (Police) goalless till the 40th minute of the play. However, at that minute, Police’s Amirul got the ball from midfield while running along the wing. Upon receiving the ball, the policeman took control over the ball very quickly and just took a wonderful shot to score the only goal of the match. Rest of the time, both the teams tried hard to come up with more goals but it was not a day for the forwards. After this match, the point table is not affected at all. Police just consolidated their first place with 32 points from 17 matches while Wari Club is now at the 7th position with 22 points from the same number of matches. On the other hand, Soccer Club Feni and Swadhinata Krira Shangha, who both are in relegation zone, came up with a goalless match. The teams tried sometimes to score goals, but at the same time it seemed that they lacked motivation to play more attacking football. The table has not been shaken after this match either. Both the teams are still in the relegation zone.
