Yangon: The Bangladesh Women’s team will play against Nepal in the third and last Group C Asian Qualification match of the Women’s Olympic Football Tokyo 2020 on Tuesday at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar. The match is just a part of the formalities as two defeats have already knocked the team off the race. The match will kick-off at 2:30 pm Bangladesh time. Two top teams of the Group C, India and Myanmar, will meet each other in the last group match, also on Tuesday at 5:30 pm (BST) to deicide the group champions. Touring Bangladesh Women’s team wants a consolation win from the overseas journey and the match against Nepal might bring in some valuable experiences for the upcoming SAFF Women’s Championship. On Monday, the team undertook a day of recovery and planning after their frustrating defeat against India. Head Coach Golam Rabbani Choton said the youthful team averaging just 18 years is not ready for such a level of competition but the tour was a valuable lesson for the whole team. “Our time will come,” the coach added. The team had made a frustrating start losing to hosts and upper ranked Myanmar by 0-5 goals and confirmed their elimination from the meet after a shocking 1-7 goals defeat against India in the 2nd match on Sunday.
