Mohammedan squander 3-goal lead to draw with Brothers

Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited failed to beat Brothers Union Limited despite taking a 3-0 lead in the first half in the Bangladesh Premier League 2018-19 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka on Wednesday. Toklis broke the deadlock for Mohammedan in the 23rd minute. Yusuf Sifat then added two more goals in the 42nd and 44th minute to give the Black and Whites a comfortable 3-0 lead going into the half time break. However, Brothers took advantage of Mohammedan’s complacency in the second half. Their revival began with Rabby scoring in the 69th minute. Mokarram then pulled another back in the 82nd minute. With two minutes left on the clock, Rabby completed the turn around for Brothers and shatter Mohammedan’s hopes of registering their third victory in a row. Picking up 7 points from their last 3 matches, Mohammedan have come out of the relegation zone and now sit at 10th on the BPL 2018-19 table with 13 points from 15 games. Brothers, on the other hand, now occupy the 12th spot with just 9 points from 14 games and are in danger of being relegated.
